“It was always going to come down to us.”
Karen Willow smiles softly at the camera, as though she were looking directly at Izzy herself. There’s no clenched fists, no venom in her words. No, Karen looks at ease as she leans against the wall behind her.
KAREN WILLOW: “Three years ago, you saw an angsty and loudmouth teenager who lashed out at everybody. You saw someone scared at being thrust into the world and did everything she could to push people away, and you didn’t leave. You took me in and helped me see that this world is what you make of it. And even when things happen out of your control, you can still find some good."
"You gave me hope, Izzy.”
A genuine smile appears as she shrugs, trying to be nonchalant about it all. Just like the Karen of old would’ve done.
KAREN WILLOW: “You, and Danny, and Tapp. It was us, Poor Life Choices, that shook up NVR and brought it into a whole new era. We weren’t second to Seattle Pro, we were every bit as talented, if not more. We made others step their game up because we couldn’t be denied or held down. On my own, I would’ve probably been ignored or given a fraction of the attention I’ve had. But with PLC, our voices were heard. We were seen. And that meant the world to me."
"We held titles. We got awards. We won battle after battle, all of it as a family. You gave me a family when I didn’t have one. I don’t think I can ever repay you for that.”
Tears.
KAREN WILLOW: “But. As good as Danny was, as talented as Tapp is, I knew. I knew that the final challenge for me would be you. Together you and I have gone through plenty of opponents here in NVR, to the point where it was only a matter of time. And I’m not talking about any matches we might’ve had in the past. I’m talking about now when the stakes are high and we both have something to prove. When it’s not just “oh I’ll give her everything I got!” We needed to go through it. We needed to be beaten down by the world first. We needed to know what the view from the top looked like, so we appreciated it more while we were down at the bottom."
"We needed to go through what we’re going through now, Izzy. Because that makes us desperate. That makes us fight with our hearts instead of our heads, and that is when we really fight. When it’s not friendship or good times or anything sentimental. You’re hurting. I’m hurting. And the only thing that’ll make me feel better for a few minutes will be hurting you. It’s petty. It’s stupid. But fuck that’ll help a bit. And I know it’s the same for you.”
Karen pushes herself off the wall, hands jammed into the pockets of her hoodie as she smiles.
KAREN WILLOW: “I want you to hit me as hard as you can. I want you to just unload every hurt, every frustration, every moment of self-depreciation you felt after it all went down. Unload everything on me Izzy, and don’t you fucking pull any of your punches. You better try and knock me out every time you swing."
"Because this is the best therapy you and I are gonna get. This is what’s gonna help us heal and move on. Not words. Not crying it out on a sofa to some bored therapist. But by beating each other senselessly and seeing who gets the title."
"May not be the healthiest option. But you and I were always gonna choose the poor life choice instead.”
The smile she gives is wide and mischievous as she turns her cap around, backing away momentarily before pulling a 180 and continuing on her path. The camera lingers only a half-second longer before cutting.

“All The Thing She Said” by Poppy plays and the arena lights flicker between pink and darkness while thick smoke fills the stage. As the beat kicks in, Karen Willow steps through the curtain - illuminated by a single spotlight - as she surveys the fans with narrowed eyes. The corners of her mouth slowly curl upwards before Karen saunters down the ramp. As she gets to ringside, Karen climbs through the ropes and paces around the ring like a caged animal, never taking her eyes off the opponent as the music fades out.
VALENTINA LOVELACE: And now, the champion...
Izzy comes out of the curtain bumping to her music. She rips open her vest, throws her head back, and poses at the top of the ramp. She smiles and smirks with the fans chanting "Izzy, Izzy, Izzy". Upon reaching the threshold wear the ramp meets the ring mat, Izzy bites her lip, winks to the camera, and slides into the ring. She pops up to her feet and heads to the hard cam side of the ring. She slides her torso in between the top and middle rope. She smiles and throws her arms open forming the horns with her hands. Izzy's eyes widen and her smile looks a little more crazed. She pulls back and looks on at her opponent eager to get down.
VALENTINA LOVELACE: LADIES AND GENTLEMEN... THE WINNER OF THIS MATCH... VIA PINFALL... AND STILL THE NVR WOMEN’S CHAMPION… IZZY VAN DOREN!!!
Izzy has just enough energy to roll over, but after that, neither woman moves for a while. There is only deep breathing and staring up at the lights as they pushed each other to their absolute limits in this match. After they finally catch their breath, they trade words of respect and encouragement, because these two best friends have been through it all. The referee helps Izzy to her feet and Karen slowly rolls out of the ring. Izzy looks at her title belt, and then at Karen and smiles. She motions for a microphone, but she still can’t talk much due to exhaustion.
IZZY VAN DOREN: Back in November… I talked about how I was going to retire this belt if I beat Karen, because then… there would be no one left that could beat me.
The crowd waits with bated breath as Izzy catches her breath and continues on.
IZZY VAN DOREN: But that woman right there… that pillar of this company… just proved to me that this title is so much more than just a women’s division... Almost every champion in this company is a woman… Almost everyone who won a year-end award is a woman…
The crowd pops!
IZZY VAN DOREN: And this title.. that represents all these women… deserves to be a WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP!!!
Even bigger pop.
IZZY VAN DOREN: So, I’m going to take a page out of Karen’s book, and I’m going to enter the 2022 Women’s Summit… I’m going to pull off the impossible and win the tournament a second year in a row… and I’m going to use the opportunity to challenge for the NVR WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP... BECAUSE THE WOMEN'S DIVISION RUNS THIS COMPANY!!!
Izzy weakly raises her belt high in the air…
IZZY VAN DOREN: So it won’t matter who wins tonight… because in NVR… I am inevitable!!!
Big cheers come from the potential of what Izzy’s plans are. Whether you’re excited to see her face all the inside and outside talents in the Women’s Summit, potentially face Tapp or Julianna, or even potentially get embarrassed in the first round and make a complete ass of herself, you know you’re excited.
WARHEAD WILLIAMS: We just watched the heart of NVR Wrestling fight the Soul of NVR wrestling, and it did not disappoint!!! Even more so, Izzy Van Doren has set her sights on becoming a 3 time World Champion!!!

BACKSTAGE...
The scene fades in on NVR Champion Julianna DiMaria in the locker room. She certainly has a lot going on in her mind, especially since this is one of the biggest matches of her career up to this point and undoubtedly the biggest one that she has ever had in NVR. Her eyes do not show any fear. They do not provide the look of someone that is feeling out of their league. Her eyes only show the determination to be a champion and to remain a champion when it’s all said and done. She takes a deep breath and she begins to express her thoughts.
JULIANNA DIMARIA: Tapp Adams, Tapp Wrestling, RM Tapp, whatever the FUCK you want to call yourself depending on the time of the month it is… I’m going to be really honest with you. I TRIED to take the high road with this whole thing with you. For MONTHS, everywhere I turn, any time I even tweet ANYTHING, whether it was NVR related or not, there YOU are quote tweeting me and taking shots at ME! I don’t know if I’m the only one that you have treated this way, but I really don’t care about that because this has been between you and me the entire time. Every single time I even post ONE thing on social media, you’re all over it like flies on a pile of garbage… which I guess that’s very fitting because when it’s all said and done that’s EXACTLY what your personality is. Every single tweet… I allowed it to roll off my back because the last thing I was EVER going to do is lower myself to YOUR fucking level. I couldn’t even tweet about my father being killed without YOU chiming in for no FUCKING reason other than to get your latest, repetitive cheap dig at me. LET’S GO TAPP!!! VALENTINA LOVELACE: Introducing first... “Deal with the Devil” hits the speakers as Julianna DiMaria appears on the stage, greeted by some boos from the fans in attendance. She ignores them and heads down to the ring with a confident, focused look on her face. Once she heads inside the ring, she cracks her knuckles, indicating she's ready to fight and afterward does the "talk to the hand" gesture toward all the fans that are booing her, displaying another touch of arrogance to get the fans against her even more.. She heads to her corner and scoffs at the reaction she's getting as the song fades and she waits for what's coming next. VALENTINA LOVELACE: And her opponent... Classic Man Remix by Jidenna (feat. Kendrick Lamar) hits the PA system, and the lights fade to a red color. At the top of the stage, sparkler pyres go off and as the chorus hits, they shoot off white, as red confetti shoots into the air, and outcomes Tapp Wrestling and Mo Mooney. The REALEST Wrestler walks down the ramp ignoring the fans and focusing on the match ahead. Tapp slides into the ring on his stomach and slaps the canvas three times before hopping up. He "Runs the ropes" and arrogantly poses in the center of the ring by kissing his hands and spreading them out into the air as his music fades out. VALENTINA LOVELACE: LADIES AND GENTLEMEN... THE WINNER OF THIS MATCH... VIA PINFALL... AND IS THE UNDISPUTED NVR WORLD CHAMPION… JULIANNA DIMARIA!!! Julianna takes a second to enjoy the moment as she sits up and looks out to the crowd. She tries to stand, but Tapp’s offense during the match has made it so she literally cannot stand. She grabs Jeff the Ref’s arm and tries to use him for balance as he raises her hand and hands her the NVR World Championship. She raises it, as she has finally silenced Tapp’s World Championship claims once and for all. The crowd showers her with cheers and throws ribbons her as she drops to her knees. Outside of the ring, Tapp is getting dragged out by trainers, but Mo Mooney is throwing a fit for him and claiming the system is rigged against them and even shoves a cameraman, making him drop the camera, but Mo and Team Wristlock Academy doesn’t care, because they “will be coming back for what’s theirs”. WARHEAD WILLIAMS: WHAT A MATCH!!! WHAT A SHOW!!! THANK YOU ALL TONIGHT FOR CELEBRATING OUR 50th SHOW AND PLEASE COME BACK FOR THE WOMEN’S SUMMIT AND LOVERS IN A DANGEROUS TIME!!! K.T.
