BIOGRAPHY -
An unlikely duo, TJS and Kai can best be described as "Frienemies". Having fought over multiple championships, the two slowly found themselves facing a mutual rogues gallery when Kai's former allies, ONI, turned on him and cost Teddy his R!ZE Championship on the same night. Thinking that this was a 1-time thing, they would beat ONI at Battlemania 2021 and went on their separate ways. Kai would go on to search for more singles success, but Teddy would go on to find success elsewhere altogether. He would start "TJS 4 News" as a way to get him the NVR Interviewer job as Gemma Marchand got promoted to Color Commentary. Doing an exposé on his journey, and trying to get interviews with fellow wrestlers, Teddy would find himself in the crosshairs of a feud between his old rivals, ONI, and the dominant STRONGHOLD! He would become a target of STRONGHOLD, getting taken out a couple of times by them as they continued their conquest to take over NVR. During this time, Kai would see his former allies all getting attacked by STRONGHOLD and feel moved enough to join in! ONI, Kai, and TJS would all put their differences aside and battle STRONGHOLD at A Court of Fists and Starlight. TJS and Kai would go on to be a team, with TJS calling Kai his "Field Reporter" and Kai... putting up with it because they're better as a team.
ENTRANCE THEME - "Spirit of Radio" by RUSH
DESCRIPTION -
TJS 4 NEWS appears on the screen. Each letter fades in and out before the other appears as the intro plays. The lights dim slightly aside for a trio of lights which, you guessed it, shine TJS 4 NEWS onto the roof of the building or down onto the ring. TJS appears from behind the curtain with his back to the crowd but spins to stand facing them, legs wide apart, and embraces the crowd. Mike Stanley and Cam Rollins, the TJS 4 NEWS Crew, are right behind TJS as they try to “catch the scoop”. Right behind them is "Field Reporter" Kai Urigawa steps through the curtain. Kai is all smiles, but it’s just the calm before the storm. He pulls his mouthguard from his vest pocket and puts it in. Throwing out a t-shirt to one of the crowd members rampside earns TJS a pop before he starts to walk down the ramp. TJS raises a finger, then sings the opening lyrics to his theme with the crowd. Kai follows closely behind him.
TJS grabs the ropes with the small instrumental break and spins to hook the top rope and face the ramp while Kai hops up onto the apron hardcam side. Mike and Cam catch every moment.
As that riff hits, Kai looks over his shoulder at his opponents and enters the ring. Urigawa takes off his vest and falls into the corner, doing some last-minute stretching. TJS backflips into the ring and walks around, the lights dimming down to an almost darkened state as the fans' screens light the arena with purple, pink, blue, and red bright screens. TJS then performs a running shooting star press and lands on his feet, pretending it was unseen but the house lights come back on bright just a second after he lands. Mike and Cam high-five because they think they got it. TJS nods his head to his News Crew, as they all enjoy the rest of the song. Even as it fades out, the loyal NVR fans sing it loud and proud with TJS conducting them with one hand.
